Roseburg’s Happy Tails Dog Park Closed After Flood Damage

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Happy Tails Dog Park in Roseburg has been forced to close temporarily due to severe damage caused by recent flooding. The flooding occurred when the South Umpqua River overflowed on Sunday, impacting the park located at 100 SE Templin Street.

According to the Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department, the floodwaters caused extensive destruction to the park’s fencing, which was completely torn down. In addition to the fencing damage, water and debris left behind by the flood have made the park unsafe for use.

Parks and recreation crews are currently working throughout the city to assess the damage caused by the flood and determine priorities for repairs. While the Happy Tails Dog Park remains closed for now, the department has not provided an exact timeline for its reopening.

Local officials have urged the public to stay clear of the park while crews conduct their evaluations and make necessary repairs. As the city works to address flood damage in various areas, residents are encouraged to stay informed through city announcements and updates.

The temporary closure of Happy Tails Dog Park is a significant disruption for dog owners in the community who regularly visit the park. However, with repairs underway, the hope is that the park will soon return to its usual state, allowing local pets and their owners to enjoy the space once again.
