ROGUE RIVER, Ore. – A local teacher was arrested Friday following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a former student. Jesse Rex Orndoff, 30, of Selma, Ore., was taken into custody by deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). He is facing 10 charges each of second-degree sex abuse, third-degree rape, and third-degree sodomy.
The investigation began after a woman reported on Thursday, February 13, that she had been sexually abused by Orndoff during his time as a teacher and coach at Rogue River Junior-Senior High School. According to the victim, the abuse occurred over a span of several years while she was a student at the school, between the ages of 15 and 17. The victim is no longer enrolled at the school.
Orndoff, who no longer works at Rogue River Junior-Senior High, was most recently employed at Rogue Christian Academy in Grants Pass. Both educational institutions are fully cooperating with law enforcement during the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office has emphasized that additional victims may exist, as investigators continue to follow up on leads.
At present, Orndoff remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail, where he is awaiting further legal proceedings. JCSO is urging anyone with additional information related to the
