Award amounts ranged from $3,315 – $8,000. The museum grant program is offered annually by the Oregon Heritage Commission, part of the Oregon Heritage program at Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD). The grant program began in 1965 when only 24 organizations were eligible for the program. The grant is funded OPRD lottery dollars. State officials announced that the recent samples show levels of the marine biotoxin domoic acid have dropped below the closure limit. State officials also said that the conditions have progressively worsened over winter and spring due to well below average precipitation.
